Show Recap: "More Than Music Pt. 1" Concert!

The concert at the Hip Hop Culture Center in Harlem was popping last night! Big ups to all the artists who was on the bill...special thanks to my peoples for coming out to show support! Of course Triboro shut it down as usual...albeit I forgot my lyrics to "Fly Away" (a potential single off the upcoming collab album "Gr8 Myndz Think Alike"), we still shut it down! Big ups to Big House for turning the game off on stage and my sister, Mala Reignz had the whole club rocking! But the performance which blew me away personally came from my cousin, Mr. Skinny (aka Heat)...usually I have a negative critique on his live performances but last night he looked like a superstar! Dee from Ruff Ryders was so impressed, he ended up calling my cousin's cell a few times on our way back to my studio...today he is supposed to have an impromptu meeting...albeit Ruff Ryders isn't in the best of shape currently as an indie label, its still a good look and just shows what I already knew about my cousin, dat he is dat nigga! He's da reason I started rapping after all! Elsewhere during the concert, Verse shut it down, performing "Up and Down"...a single off the Hip Hop Project soundtrack! Jus' Rhyme (Newly formed group consisting of me, Pete Colon, Kasim Allah, & Rich Kid) performed their single "We Hungry" at the conclusion in which the video directed by Ralph MacDaniels was shown to the concert goers...the video is official, I'll be uploading it shortly for you all to peep! If you are in the Tri-State area, the video will debut on Ralph's legendary Music Video show, 'Video Music Box'...check your local listings..it airs this weekend (time and day varies depending on where you are)!

Toys For Tots Benefit Show November 16th

Sorry for the absence

Until recent...I had been balancing my career as an artist with other shit and hadn't had time to devote to my blog! I am now a fulltime artist (left my 9-5 and shit)...I will be updating my blog regularly and keeping you aware of the day-to-day happenings of everything I am involved with or in support of! Well to bring you up to speed briefly since my hiatus...I currently have a collab album that my group, Triboro and musical genius Verse are collectively working on! We have production from some of the cream of the crop of producer's in the industry....I am not at liberty as of now to mention who these people are due to contractual obligations...but lets just say, the album is in good company! I am also working on my third and final installment to the "On With The Show" Mixtape series...that should be released top of 2009! To give some insight on that project...it will showcase me as a songwriter! Vol 1 displayed my love for real authentic Boom Bap Hip Hop...Vol 2 displayed my versatility as a recording artist in Hip Hop...and this next installment will center around me as a songwriter! Many of you know that I make incredible music (thats what they tell me...not my words)...Vol 3 will showcase me as a songwriter...it will also serve a dual purpose in getting you ready for my solo debut album, Ghetto Griot..which as of now is intented for a commercial release at the end of 2nd Quarter 2009! Things are moving along smoothly me being a fulltime artist now...so keep tuned to the blog for the day-to-day happenings of Elus!
